- Train and guide maintenance technicians
- Train new Software Systems Engineers
- Manage a team of Software Systems Engineers at the installation sites
Job Summary:
Employee will oversee that all tasks and job duties are completed timely/ on schedule to facilitate a successful startup and an operational Knapp Warehouse Control or Management System (WCS/WMS) at the Customer's site.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Installation and setup of Knapp logistics software at the Customer's sites
- Programming of software customizations adapting configurations on complex projects
- Development of queries and reports by accessing the software's database (SQL)
- Organization, preparation, and testing of software at the Knapp's office in Kennesaw, Georgia and/or at the Customer's sites
- Training of new employees, assisting with day-to-day tasks
- Project related work with customers, at the customers' site and/or Knapp's office, which may entail:
- software engineering to discuss processes
- adapting of interface software
- support to sales and project management team
- Cooperation with different departments, such as software development and software planning
- Customer support during the startup phase
- Training and support of customers on issues related to Knapp's software
- Remote support to existing customers and remote installation of modifications
- Documentation and finalization of projects for handover to Customer Service department
- Continuous updating and sharing of technical notes (Knowledge Data Base)
- Coordination of daily job duties/tasks on-site with the Customer and project teams
- Technical point of contact of the assigned project
- Performance of quality checks on-site
- Preparation and review of daily and weekly reports
- Regular check and maintenance of project milestones
WHAT YOU HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of C++ or Java development
- SQL and PL-SQL experience is required
- Experience with Linux
- Work in a mixed Linux and Windows environment
- Knowledge of one of the following scripting languages is a plus:
- Bash, Perl, or Python
- Solid understanding of network infrastructures
- Knowledge and understanding of logistical workflows and processes
- Knowledge of current software development technologies and design patterns
- Ability to create workflows and processes in written form and sequence diagrams, and to develop and implement them accordingly
- Strong knowledge in one of the following fields: Database development, process development, UI/HMI development
- Knowledge of Knapp software implementation process
Working Conditions and Environment:
- Overtime as required by work
- Travel is required as follows:
- 60-80% travel if traveling to the Customer's site or 20% travel or less if relocating or local to the Customer's site
- Mandatory training at our training facility in Kennesaw, Georgia may be required during your employment
- Ability to travel both domestically (U.S.) and internationally (primarily to Austria and other parts of Europe, as well as Canada)
- Professional office etiquette is required at all times
- Physical requirements may include sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm's length, and/or lifting up to 50 pounds
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Passport or ability to obtain a passport
