Summary
The General Manager is responsible for all Hueneme Port activities related to vehicle processing operations. This position will coordinate overall activities with Glovis America HQ (GUS), our customers, and vendors. Responsibilities include managing all imported finished vehicle processing, tendering, and the profitability of the overall business. Proactively identifies, analyzes, and resolves problems or issues that may arise with customer, vendors, or employees.

Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the overall operations of Port Hueneme
- Monthly wholesale achievement
- P&L management and KSOX compliance
- KPI management
- Safety management
- Manage daily processing volume and targeted volume needs according to Logistics Planning with dynamic changes
- Manage employees with communication and oversight to ensure LP needs met on daily basis. Provide guidance to port leaderships on resolving operational obstacles
- Direct, motivate, and monitor operational managers regarding changes to their production plan, including prioritizing of specific models and dealer types, in order to achieve our wholesale goals
- Provide strategic guidance to port leaders for improving port overall performance
- Develop and execute strategic plans to maximize usage of the the existing facilities and propose potential expansion needs
- Utilize technology and implement innovative solutions to enhance operations, increase efficiencies, and streamline processes
- Monitor and improve performance metrics related to operational excellence, productivity, safety, and cost management
- Develop investment plans for facility improvements and expansions, ensuring optimal return on investment and full cost recovery
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives
- Coordinate processing activities with all other functions of the organization, and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment
- Implement cost effective systems of control over operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries
- Control and minimize labor overtime, and repair expenses
- Develop and maintain processing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs, and image
- Plan budgeting - production goals, headcount, asset exp.
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers, including Hyundai, other OEM, and GLOVIS headquarters
- Ensure frequent and effective communication with direct reports, as well as members of the HQ Operations management team
Support business development of new customer accounts - All other duties as required
- Monitor & evaluate quality of all processes and procedures of port Operations
- Analyze quality data to develop countermeasures to correct process deficiencies
- Create and change departmental processes for continuous process improvement activities
- Conduct departmental process and safety audits at appropriate intervals
- Provide direction to direct reports to perform safety audits and reports
- Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals
- Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures
- Create and submit recommendations for changes to the HQ Operations
- Perform personnel functions such as hiring, mentoring, and performance evaluation

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 10 - 15 years of operational knowledge and proven leadership skills in Port Operations
- 13 - 18 years of operational knowledge and proven leadership skills in Port Operations and Vehicle Logistics
- 4 - 7 years of managerial experience required; 7 - 10 years of managerial experience preferred
- Valid Driver's License required
