Summary/Objective
Responsible forthe planning, organization, direction, supervision and evaluation of all thenursing services provided in the center. The Sr. Director of Nursing may help to support the nursing functions,training, development, process improvement or other needed support of othercenters within the POD or another center as needed or assigned.
Ensures nursing departmentcompliance with federal, state and local regulations and implementation of Centernursing core programs. Ensuresmaintenance of records and reports concerning resident care. Ensures the orientation and training ofnursing services personnel. Manages theNursing department within budget. Follows all Center policies and procedures.

Work Environment/PhysicalRequirements
The responsibilities of this position involve significant physical activitiesincluding standing, lifting (up to 50 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping,pushing, pulling and twisting. Allemployees of nursing homes may be required to provide lifting and transferassistance to residents. Lifting and/ortransferring some residents will require use of a lifting device and /orassistance of other staff.

Meets all health requirements, as required by law. Demonstrates basic computer knowledge andability with an aptitude to learn company applications. - Directs,plans, organizes, directs, supervises, and evaluates all nursing servicesprovided in the center to achieve desired clinical and financial outcomes
- Ensures that center is in compliance with all regulatory requirements and center standards
- Ensuresphysicians make visits as required
- Ensuresnecessary equipment, supplies, and staffing are available for the delivery ofthe prescribed resident/patient care
- Completesrounds of the center at least daily to ensure compliance with all policies,procedures and regulations
- Ensureseach resident's/resident's RAI/IPOC process is carried out on a timely basis
- Responsiblefor recruitment, training, supervision, scheduling, and personnel issues in thenursing department. Ensures themaintenance of licensure status for all nursing employees
- Managesthe nursing department budget
- Workswith regional personnel to continuously improve the quality of resident/patientcare
- CoordinatesInfection Control, Performance Improvement, and other concurrent reviewfunctions of the center
- Representsthe center in various professional and community activities. Participates in marketing planning,activities, and evaluation
- Treatsall residents, visitors, and staff with courtesy
- Ensures nurses administer discipline fairly and according to the handbook
- Ensures nurses prepare the written evaluations as required
- Complies with laws and regulations applicable to position and act in accordance with Center's Compliance Program
- Attends and participates in in-service training, performance improvement ("PI") committees and other meetings as scheduled and directed
- Ensures customer service standardsfor the nursing department
Safety
- Knows and follows center rules
- Follows center dress and hygiene policies
- Demonstrates proper use of equipment. Reports equipment needs or repairs
- Follows center smoking policies
- Reports and documents any incidents or accidents of residents, staff or visitors to the appropriate center personnel
- Reports all hazardous conditions/equipment to Supervisor
- Performs duties, which may include transportation of residents, as assigned in Center Disaster Plan
- Uses required protective equipment
- Follows infection control standards, policies and procedures
Resident Rights
- Knows Resident Rights. Helps the residents/patients exercise and/or protect their rights
- Reports resident/patient complaints to management
- Maintains confidentiality of resident/patient information
HIPAA
- Follows and adheres to Center's policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information
- Uses and/or discloses only minimum amount of Protected Health Information necessary to complete assigned tasks
- Reports all suspected violation of company's HIPAA policies or procedures to Center Privacy Designee

- Current RN license with the state
- At least 3 years of demonstrated success inNursing leadership position
- Must have and maintain current CPRcertification
