Job Summary and Qualifications
Directs, administers and controls the overall operations of the Transplant Program. This includes the management of personnel, financial management, regulatory compliance, marketing, planning and development. Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.

Job Summary and Qualifications
Directs, administers and controls the overall operations of the Transplant Program. This includes the management of personnel, financial management, regulatory compliance, marketing, planning and development. Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
- You will guide, direct, and plan the organization and coordination of Transplant Program activities.
- You will develop, administer and analyzes goals and objectives for the transplant program.
- You will meet organizational goals. Take proactive view and anticipate change and need for action.
- You will prepare departmental budget, projecting reasonable activity levels and expenses required to achieve approved net margin for work unit(s). Operate work unit(s) within approved budget.
- You will demonstrate effectiveness in the management of personnel by selecting employees, developing staff and preparing employees for career advancement.
- You will provide continuous employee assessment with timely written evaluations and demonstrate ability to motivate employees. Initiate progressive disciplinary action/termination when necessary.

- You will work in coordination with VP of Managed Care Services for the St. David's HealthCare Partnership in developing and maintaining contracts with insurance payors.
- You will develop, review and revise departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- You will maintain compliance with current regulation/requirements of outside regulatory/accrediting agencies and assures that new requirements are identified on a timely basis and coordinates hospital compliance.
- You will comply with hospital/departmental policies and procedures, i.e., attendance, mandatory education, safety, infection control, etc.
- You will maintain a cooperative relationship with the Medical/Surgical Directors and Transplant Medical Staff to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of medical aspects.
- You will organize and conduct regular multi-disciplinary transplant team meetings to ensure the effective utilization and delivery of quality patient care to transplant patients.
- You will develop and maintain contracts and agreements with local providers, dialysis units and vendors.
- You will demonstrate understanding of Process Improvement. Promote the systematic assessment and improvement of performance. Continuously assess and improve the performance of care and services provided by using information available from customers (i.e., patients, staff, physicians, and employees), to improve outcomes.
- You will conduct monthly department meetings to keep staff informed. Insure that there is a complete flow of information through the department.
- You will develop and maintain cooperative relationships with dialysis centers and community organizations related to kidney transplantation.
- You will demonstrate high ethical standards in business practices. Actively support organizational goals and changes as they occur. Communicate goals in positive, supportive manner.
- You will actively participate in Hospital and Departmental committees and group meetings with a focus on providing input regarding improving the quality of patient care services in the facility.
- You will coordinate and implement an effective marketing and public relations program for the Transplant Program.
- You will comply with Employee Health and Injury policy/protocol. Comply with all emergency codes, disaster protocols, infection control protocols, and safety protocols. Ensure staff attends required/mandatory in-services and that staff receives continuing education to remain current in their field.
- You will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients and families served in relation to growth and development over the life span to identify their requirements relative to age-specific needs.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in related healthcare field required
- Minimum of three years Healthcare Management experience required
- Minimum of five years transplant experience required
