Product Engineer

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Engineer that has a background in designing material handling systems. Ideally someone will have had experience with belt conveyor or 24-volt roller conveyor design. The role will function as the subject matter expert and be the point of contact in the company for questions that come in from sales and other engineers about the conveyor options.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop and implement new products with direction from Lead Engineer for material handling conveyor systems.
• Act as lead engineer over the conveyor line
• Support new product roll outs across organization.
• Update and maintain current products.
• Provide technical support to internal departments, suppliers and customers.
• Generate 3D CAD models using Autodesk Inventor, primarily using Inventor's sheet metal modeling capabilities.
• Detail 2D parts drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Enter item masters, bill of materials, and routings into ERP system. Prior experience in SAP is a plus.
• Manage engineering requests and creation of material master tracking objects
• Create and maintain training material and library for future engineers.
• Train other engineers in the systems and methods required for troubleshooting problems in SAP
• Work independently or part of a fast-paced team.

Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• 3 plus years of design experience with conveyor systems
• 3D Modeling experience. Inventor Preferred but other software will be considered
• Strong Excel skills

Preferred

• Belt Conveyor or 24 Volt Roller Conveyor experience
• SAP Experience
• Design of sheet metal parts

Pay: DOE 85-95k
