Roadway Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Roadway Engineer to join a growing team in Raleigh, NC, specializing in NCDOT highway and roadway projects. This role offers a diverse project portfolio covering highways, interchanges, roundabouts, and more. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, experience with MicroStation, Geopak, and OpenRoads, and the ability to lead design tasks from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design roadway infrastructure including highways, arterials, and interchanges.
• Develop traffic management, pavement marking, and signing plans.
• Prepare cost estimates, design calculations, and specifications.
• Conduct field observations and site visits as needed.
• Coordinate with clients, project teams, and other disciplines.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering (required).
• 5+ years of roadway design experience.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, and/or OpenRoads.
• EIT with PE exam date set OR active PE license.
• NCDOT project experience (required).

Job Details:

• Location: Raleigh, NC (hybrid - office Mon-Wed, WFH Thurs-Fri).
• Salary: $95K+ (DOE) + amazing benefits & unlimited PTO.
• Schedule: 40-hour workweek, flexible options (5x8 or 4x9 + half-day Friday).
• Travel: Rare, occasional local site visits.
• Background Check Required (no drug screen).
