Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Represents the Clinical Account Services Department and ensures client satisfaction with clinical services and products. Establishes and maintains relationships with key departmental leaders to ensure successful interdepartmental interactions. Participates in cross-departmental programs and products aimed at generating additional revenue and/or improving services to client health plans;
Participates and/or coordinates Clinical Account Services Department overview presentations at site visits for potential and existing clients. Presents internal training program to new employees as requested. Leads, develops, manages, or assists with key corporate projects which require clinical input or leadership;
Enhances and ensures access to appropriate resources, empowering Clinical Program Managers
(CPMs) to operate efficiently and effectively to improve services to clinical clients.
Develops and/or procures tools which optimize CPM productivity and promotes professional competency. Interfaces with departmental contacts to provide appropriate input regarding corporate projects affecting CPM processes. Contributes to and assists in the development of specific clinical or financial intervention efforts and therapeutic substitution programs for use by all staff at client plans on an on-going basis;
Ensures appropriate documentation of clinical recommendations and activities of clinical program manager staff, including prospective initiatives and retrospective outcomes. Develops and
maintains documentation processes to improve efficiency and support client retention efforts and RFP process for prospective clients. Ensures proactive communication of documentation and successful outcomes with appropriate internal staff and external clients;
Provides back-up for assigned leaders upon request.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages assigned staff in the Clinical Account Services department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supports and enforces all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner, taking corrective action whenever necessary.
Client Responsibilities
This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written). One must be able to; manage difficult or emotional client situations; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Pharm D from an accredited school of pharmacy; 10+ years related experience and 8+ years of SME in respective area(s); (or equivalent combination of education and experience) with at least 8+ years leading individual contributors and leaders with responsibility for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and solving problems. A minimum of ten (10) years of MedImpact experience with an appropriate mix of past leadership experience, an approved external training program, and mentorship with a Vice President or above may be considered as a substitution for the required leadership experience.
Computer Skills
Proficient in all programs of Microsoft Office Suite.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Registered Pharmacist license in the State of California or equivalent state.
Other Skills and Abilities
Good working knowledge of all types of pharmacy services, with an emphasis on the managed health care environment. Expertise in clinical application of pharmacy practice. Proficient in using computer and software programs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

This position works on-site at the San Diego Headquarters or other company location with management approval based on business requirements). Working Hours
This is an exempt level position requiring one to work the hours needed to get the job done. Therefore one must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. This may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business. Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Travel
This position requires approximately 25-40% domestic travel and may require international travel in which case a valid passport and ability to leave the United States will be required.
