Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a First Line Decorative Paint Operations Manager (Level K) to join our Paint Operations team in North Charleston, South Carolina on Variable shift.

The First-Line Decorative Paint Operations manager is in charge of staffing, assigning tasks, and checking finished products and services. Develop and implement quality improvement plans. This person conducts, or has influence upon the people, budget, and business-related processes for the work group. Travel is required up to 10% of the time.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for directing work group activities such as cleaning, surface preparation, application of primers, coating systems, appliqus, finishes, and decorative coatings on air vehicles.
  • Work with other managers to deploy employees per program requirements.
  • Responsible for work group performance against program commitments.
  • Interfaces with engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operation goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects, processes and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing operations and/or manufacturing support
  • 1+ years of experience in a formal and/or informal leadership role
  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
  • Must be willing and able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Aircraft Decorative Paint
  • 3+ years of experience in lean processes and initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role leading teams, initiatives and projects to meet business objectives, collaborating cross functionally and influencing positive change

Summary pay range: $96,900 - $131,100
