What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead and manage the North American regulatory team, overseeing compliance with regional regulations across the US and Canada.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements from agencies such as the EPA, FDA, OSHA, DOT, CEPA, and other relevant regional regulatory bodies.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to provide expert guidance and advice on regulatory matters, helping to shape strategic decisions, manage risks, and ensure smooth regulatory processes. Advise on regulatory developments and help the leadership team navigate complex regulatory challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, legal, commercial and operations, to ensure product compliance with regulatory requirements and to support the successful execution of business goals in the North American market.
  • Manage the chemical regulatory compliance systems and product stewardship practices for the regional compliance policies and any associated business systems or practices.
  • Oversee all aspects of safety science across assigned beauty product categories and brands. This role will be responsible for leading safety assessments from raw materials to allow customers to make claims on finished products, while ensuring compliance with global safety regulations. As the key subject matter expert, you will provide leadership on toxicology-related topics, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure product safety.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance solutions within information systems, including SAP EHS module and legacy databases. Create ways to improve methods, processes, strategies and services within the PSRA group to maintain legal compliance and support new product development.
  • Manage Product Stewardship by managing federal and state regulatory commitments, overseeing the company hazard communication policies and practices across the regions including Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and label authoring. Responsible for toxicological and ecotoxicological data preparation and assessment for regional product lines.
  • Provide Regulatory Technical Support by functioning as the technical liaison and company advocate with PCPC, ACC, ACI and other trade associations, especially on toxicology or chemical safety related committees. Provide guidance to business units in communicating regulatory information to customers. Develop and coordinate regulatory training programs for the region. Provide specialist advice and guidance to individuals inside and outside the company about regulatory affair initiatives.
  • Represent Croda in industry consortiums and task forces to stay ahead of emerging trends in product safety and science.

Who We're Looking For:

Ph.D. or M.S. in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Chemistry or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in the personal care, cosmetics, or other chemical markets.
DABT or ERT certification (preferred).
Strong knowledge of global cosmetic regulations and safety standards.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles for different audiences.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
Acute attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring high-quality safety evaluations and reporting.
