Purpose of Position:
Hexagon is seeking a capable Enterprise Data Architect with competencies across information strategy, modern data architecture, data visualization and data science to design and develop data platform solutions. The person in this role will use leading data engineering practices to architect, design and develop data/analytic platform (e.g., data warehouse, data lake, lakehouse pattern) that are used to produce analytic products, including reports, dashboards, ML models among others.

Purpose of Position:
Hexagon is seeking a capable Enterprise Data Architect with competencies across information strategy, modern data architecture, data visualization and data science to design and develop data platform solutions. The person in this role will use leading data engineering practices to architect, design and develop data/analytic platform (e.g., data warehouse, data lake, lakehouse pattern) that are used to produce analytic products, including reports, dashboards, ML models among others.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Enterprise Architecture:
- Define technical architectural design to deliver business solution requirements
- Ensures optimal decisions have been made regarding analysis, design, and implementation
- Maintain deep technical knowledge of application functionality, configuration and integration
- Lead design of application integration platform, automation and artificial intelligence
Solutions Development:
- Design and oversee end-to-end solutions that provide frameworks, interfaces, and services
- Lead technical development team including oversight of all work products and schedule
- Define and implement agile development and continuous integration processes
- Act as intersection between technical and business analyst team in executive communication
- Partner with Business Architecture and IT teams to ensure successful integration of data architecture solutions with existing systems and applications
Data Architecture:
- Designs the technical information architecture (i.e. ETL, DW, DB, DM, DQ, MDM).
- Designs an information management model to align data with business reporting objectives
- Oversees the standardization of data definitions; develops logical and physical data models
- Oversees configuration environment, performance analysis and data quality audits
Business Intelligence & Analytics:
- Support development of self-service business intelligence and reporting platform
- Create automation, and improve overall reporting processes across functions
- Design, build, integrate and manage solutions used to create interactive business models
- Standardize templates, forms and workflows for stakeholder input into planning models
Education / Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems or Engineering
- 5 - 7 years professional experience in data architecture and modeling
- 3 - 5 years' professional experience in a Project Based Environment
- 3 - 5 years' professional experience developing relational databases, data warehousing, data lake and Lakehouse solutions
- 2 - 4 years' professional experience in Enterprise Architecture
- Expert level SQL and scripting skills / knowledge of other common programming languages (Python)
- Strong project management and technical document writing capabilities
- Must be passionate about providing leading best practice solutions for stakeholders
- Advanced predictive programming language knowledge (i.e. Python, R, etc.)
- Experience with the following systems / applications:
- DW: Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Azure SQL DW / DB, SAP BW
- ETL/ELT: Informatica Cloud Integration, dbt (data build tool), Azure Data Factory, Spark, Airflow
- BI/BA: Tableau, PowerBI
- DM: Anaplan, Host Analytics, Adaptive Insights
- ERP: (GL, AP, AR, CO, etc.)
- Business Applications: Salesforce, SharePoint, Replicon, Certify, JIRA
- Experience of building and maintaining applications in a multiplatform environment
- Understanding of software development life cycle and relational database concepts
- High degree of business acumen to solve problems through technology enablement
- Strong technical and analytical competencies to bridge business and IT functions
- Knowledge of enterprise resource planning, business applications and BI systems
- Continuous improvement attitude with ability and confidence to make recommendations
- Ability to quickly synthesize disparate data and provide actionable information
- Highly responsive, leveraging ability to multi-task, work efficiently and meet tight deadlines
- Energetic with a proven ability to work autonomously and quickly adapt to change
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence and executive presence
- Ability to travel up to 10 - 25% annually
