Job Summary:

The Senior Vice Chair of Quality and Projects in the Department of Primary Care is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and operational excellence related to quality improvement, patient safety, and the management of key projects within the department. This role will lead efforts to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while advancing the department's clinical and operational initiatives. The Senior Vice Chair will oversee quality initiatives, improve patient outcomes, manage large-scale projects, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance the overall performance of primary care services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Improvement Leadership
Lead the development and execution of the department's quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Implement strategies for improving patient care and safety, focusing on evidence-based practices, clinical guidelines, and performance metrics.
Oversee the monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and patient care, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Project Management
Manage and oversee strategic projects related to quality initiatives, technology implementation, workflow optimization, and other departmental improvements.
Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring successful project execution and adherence to objectives.
Collaborate with departmental leadership, external stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals and resolve challenges.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with clinical leaders, administration, and key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
Build and maintain strong relationships with other departments, quality teams, and external partners to ensure effective communication and alignment of priorities.
Represent the department in quality-related meetings and initiatives at the organizational level.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Analyze clinical, operational, and financial data to identify opportunities for quality improvement and project optimization.
Utilize data to drive decision-making, track progress on initiatives, and ensure transparency and accountability in reporting.
Mentorship and Development
Mentor and develop faculty and staff involved in quality and project management activities, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Provide leadership and guidance to junior faculty, quality officers, and project managers to foster professional development and enhance departmental effectiveness.
Policy and Compliance Oversight
Ensure departmental adherence to healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies related to quality and safety.
Drive compliance with relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and best practices in the delivery of primary care services.
Strategic Planning and Innovation
Contribute to the strategic planning process for the department, ensuring alignment of quality and project initiatives with the department's long-term goals and vision.
Encourage innovation in clinical practices, technology use, and service delivery models to improve the patient experience and care outcomes.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:


o Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited college of Medicine/Osteopathy.
o Board Certification in Family Medicine or Board Certification in Internal Medicine and eligibility for licensure in Texas are required.
A minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in a hospital or health system of considerable size and complexity.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

o Texas Medical License
o Board Certification
Preferred Education/Licensure/Certification and Experience:

o Preference is given to those candidates who also have a working knowledge of management techniques and have prior successful service within a medical staff or service line structure as a department chair, medical executive committee member, chair of a medical staff committee, service line leader, medical director, or other equivalent physician leadership position.

A strong communicator and diplomat who can inspire and effectively communicate with physicians/providers, Vice Chair and Leadership a wide and diverse audience at all levels of the organization and externally.
