Field Project Engineer - Construction Surveying
A growing construction firm is seeking a Field Project Engineer with significant surveying experience to support a high-rise expansion project in Midtown Atlanta. The project involves adding six stories to an existing 21-story building and constructing additional elements surrounding the structure. This role provides a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a complex project while positioning themselves for career advancement within the company.
Responsibilities
- Perform surveying and layout for pilings, building footprints, and building additions, ensuring precision and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain control points, integrating data from existing landmarks and structures.
- Create and maintain as-built drawings to document changes and ensure alignment with project plans.
- Conduct and verify building layouts using control points and building markers to ensure proper alignment.
- Utilize Revit to overlay field data on blueprints and assist with construction coordination. Familiarity with the software is required, though extensive experience is not necessary.
- Maintain project documentation using Excel and other construction-related software tools.
- Identify and resolve field challenges, contributing to a solutions-oriented project environment.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure construction progresses according to plan.
- Demonstrate strong leadership traits and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in surveying and field engineering, with a focus on layout and surveying control.
- Proficiency in Revit for overlaying field data on plans.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and other construction technology tools for data tracking and reporting.
- Degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations and maintain professionalism on the job site.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively address challenges.
- Demonstrated ambition for career growth, with a clear interest in advancing to roles such as Field Engineer, Superintendent, or Project Manager.
- Direct hire position with competitive salary.
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Salary Range: $75,000- $95,000
- Located in Midtown Atlanta.
- Candidates must be US citizens or Green Card holders.
