Project Quotation Specialist Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, the Project Quotation Specialist will be responsible for managing quotes, purchasing, and sales order processing for large-scale project opportunities. This role requires a highly experienced sales professional with demonstrated strength in estimating, sourcing, and customer service, capable of operating independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment and has a proven history of closing substantial project sales orders while driving overall project sales growth. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems is essential, as is prior experience handling large-scale project quotes involving thousands of line items. Industry expertise in pipe, valves, and fittings (PVF) and strong existing relationships with end users, contractors, fabricators, manufacturers, and master distributors are critical for success. Technical knowledge of valves is a plus.

Project Quotation Specialist Responsibilities
  • Generate and manage quotes in the ERP system
  • Process sales and purchase orders
  • Drive revenue and gross margin on project sales
  • Build and maintain strong customer and vendor relationships
  • Achievement of revenue and gross profit targets
  • Growth in new and existing customer accounts
  • Volume of quotes and quote line items generated
  • On-time delivery and project order quality

Project Quotation Specialist Position Requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive inside sales experience, with at least 3 years in project sales
  • 5+ years of experience in the PVF industry is required
  • Established customer relationships and a loyal client base that is likely to follow
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office suite
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple deadlines and stakeholders
  • Keen attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Technical knowledge of pipe, butt-weld fittings, forged steel, and flanges is required
  • Knowledge of alloys/metallurgies is required
  • Valve product knowledge is preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's or associate degree preferred; equivalent industry experience considered
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must not be subject to a current non-compete or non-solicitation agreement
