Description The Apple Ads team has an immediate opening for a Privacy Engineering Program Manager and is looking for a driven and creative privacy engineer who can understand complex technologies, evaluate privacy risks, and design thoughtful controls accordingly. This is an hands-on role that will directly interact with teams in Apple Ads and various stakeholders across Apple to ensure that our ads business meet Apple privacy requirements. This position requires a teammate and self-starter with experience working on cross-functional, tactical, and detail-oriented projects to achieve business, operations, and technical goals. In this role you will: - Review features to assess privacy exposures, provide guidance to engineers on the right privacy controls to implement, and partner with teams to design mitigations - Lead data analysis of datasets to estimate privacy risks, including assessment of k-anonymity of datasets, cardinality of data fields, id correlation vectors - Develop privacy metrics and tools to quantify data exposure risks - Advise engineering teams on privacy-preserving techniques such as differential privacy, homomorphic encryption, noise addition - Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and legal teams to embed privacy into the product development lifecycle - Audit new product features to identify privacy risks, and review customer data collected by engineering teams to drive decisions for privacy impact - Communicate privacy risks and potential mitigations to senior leadership to drive decisions - Identify emerging privacy threats Successful candidates will need to have superb communication skills and a passion for protecting privacy and educating others about privacy. Creative problem-solving, analytical, and deductive reasoning skills are critical for this position. You will be working on multiple unrelated features each week, so the ability to learn quickly, context switch, and excitement for new things is a must. This is a hybrid role that blends program delivery and technical expertise-perfect for someone passionate about privacy and data integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of combined experience in privacy engineering, data analysis, and managing technical projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven ability to analyze datasets and build privacy metrics using SQL and Python
  • Strong understanding of systems architecture and data flows, with an ability to assess and mitigate privacy risks
  • Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, learn quickly, and work across varied partner groups


Preferred Qualifications
  • Passion for customer privacy
  • Experience assessing data privacy risks such as k-anonymity, l-diversity, and ID linking
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; able to work independently
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker)
  • Familiarity with ad tech platforms and data privacy regulations
