This role isn't just about placing orders-it's about developing sourcing strategies, building high-performing supplier relationships, and optimizing value across the supply chain!
What will you be doing?
- Strategic procurement & sourcing, developing and executing category strategies that align with MMIST's business goals.
- Manage major procurement activity and supplier relationships across all spend categories.
- Lead complex sourcing projects and contract negotiations to achieve PPV and NWC Targets.
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency through spend analysis and supplier rationalisation.
- Look for cost efficiencies and mitigate supply chain risks and resolve issues proactively.
- Work with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the supply chain to resolve issues and blocking points, all with the focus of ensuring on time in full delivery of materials.
- Partner with MMIST's teams across Production, Quality, Logistics and Contract Security to align procurement initiatives, maintaining an awareness of external impacts and production demand concerns, working to help find solutions to the benefit of all.
- Work with MMIST's Quality team to evaluate supplier performance and compliance (schedule, CoQ, Manufacturing, Quality) working to identify risk and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure procurement performance and value creation, provide subject matter expertise on purchasing best practices, identify opportunities to streamline processes.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Contribute to building the procurement team and structure as the company scales including mentoring and supporting team development
What do we need from you?
- Strong prior experience in procurement or strategic sourcing in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Understanding of cross border procurement activities at the operational level, with an awareness of wider issues and impacts on the materials supply chain that could prevent on-time in-full deliveries.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
- Adept at problem-solving and able to work through complex supply chain topics with exceptional communication skills.
- Experience of producing key Supply Chain metrics to support the analytical approach to continuous improvement.
- Experience with ERP and procurement systems (Vantage, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
- Knowledge of Governance, AS9100 / ISO9001 would be a benefit
- Relevant supply chain qualification (APICS / CIPS) or similar certifications a plus.
