Job Summary

The Intermediate Project Manager will be responsible for managing a critical technical work stream within the One Person One Record (OPOR) initiative, specifically focusing on Operating System transformation and risk mitigation across Nova Scotia's health infrastructure.

This position plays a vital role in supporting the transformation of IT services in the province, coordinating with Nova Scotia Health (NSH) and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will bring strong project management expertise, robust technical knowledge in networking and business domains, and a clear understanding of health sector operations and public service environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Endpoint Device Operating System Upgrades project across 50 hospital sites in alignment with the OPOR Clinical Information System (CIS) implementation timeline
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, service teams, and application readiness projects to ensure project alignment
  • Develop and test a standard Endpoint Device OS image compatible with all new and existing health sector devices
  • Oversee deployment of the OS upgrades to all applicable devices
  • Create and execute Change Management and Communication Plans
  • Prepare and deliver weekly status reports, including updates to the Risk Management Log
  • Ensure required CAB approvals are obtained for all planned project changes
  • Identify and escalate project issues to the appropriate contacts for resolution
  • Present project progress and decision points at Steering Committee meetings


Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex technical projects and programs
  • At least 4 years of experience working with provincial public service entities
  • At least 4 years of experience in the health sector
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Prior experience managing large health information system (HIS) projects
  • Proven ability to develop detailed business and technical roadmaps for both current and future states
  • Strong background in designing and delivering cross-functional IT projects
  • Experience coordinating across remote teams and multiple organizations
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated success in client engagement and timely project delivery


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in similar roles within the Nova Scotia health or Client's context


Certifications (if any)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
  • Certified Change Manager (Prosci or CCMP)
  • ITIL Certification
