Senior Back-End Engineer / Associate

Overview:

Join a highly skilled Information Architecture team focused on building data-oriented backend solutions for a web application. We're seeking two hands-on Senior Java Backend Engineers who bring deep experience in Java, data-intensive environments, and modern cloud and container-based architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Work with large volumes of data and manage complex data flows across cloud-based environments.
• Develop and optimize PL/SQL stored procedures to support data models from multiple sources.
• Integrate backend services with Kafka and IBM MQ messaging systems.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure CI/CD best practices are followed for reliable deployments.
• Utilize containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment.
• Leverage cloud platforms, ideally Azure, to manage scalable application infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

• 5-6 years of professional Java backend development experience.
• Strong skills in Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture.
• Proven experience working in data-heavy environments, handling large-scale data integration.
• Proficiency with SQL and PL/SQL, including writing and tuning complex stored procedures.
• Hands-on experience with container technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes.
• Exposure to cloud platforms; Azure preferred.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing best practices.
• Ability to work onsite in Pittsburgh, PA.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Kafka or other distributed messaging platforms.
• Knowledge of Snowflake and cloud-based data warehousing.

Education: Bachelors Degree
