We are seeking a full-time junior designer for our San Francisco office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the planning and development of small to large-scope projects under supervision of the Project Architect or Project Manager.
- Responsible for creation of construction documents and can perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Typically works with multiple design teams and may be involved throughout all phases of a project.
- Strong communication and coordination skills for working with other design and owner consultants
- Experienced or able to navigate AHJ plan check and permitting process to support the project
- Experience with Construction Administration and model codes a plusAssists in generating creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team.
- Generates drawings under supervision for schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
- Performs product research and assists team with material selections.
- Exercises critical and creative judgement and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials.
- Uses a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects, within the scope of schedule and budget, in an organized, timely, and consistent way.
- Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, legibility
- Expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large.
- Takes increasing ownership of tasks within project teams and studio activities.
- Keeps open communication within team and with designated team leader.
- Communicates ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others.
- Coordinates effectively with partners and consultants.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or related discipline required
- 3-5 years of experience
- Strong Revit proficiency is a must
- Proficiencies in BIM, building codes, site analysis, preliminary design studies, contract documents, field measurements, life safety requirements, specifications and sketching
- Knowledge of construction contract administration
SOFTWARE
- Functional knowledge of 2D/3D production software
- Intermediate Revit
- Microsoft Office / Adobe Suite
