Shopbop is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to drive strategic inventory planning and operational excellence across our fulfillment network. This role will focus on optimizing forecasting models and analytical tools to reduce costs within our inventory placement strategy. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building and maintaining sophisticated forecasting models that drive labor planning decisions and inventory placement strategies. They will work closely with multiple fulfillment centers, vendors, and cross functional partners to optimize inventory distribution and reduce transportation costs while maintaining service levels. The role requires someone who can translate complex data analyses into actionable insights for stakeholders across the organization, from operations to finance. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with excellent cross-functional partnership skills to drive data-informed decisions across the organization.
Key job responsibilities
\tDevelop and maintain weekly unit forecast to validate placement strategies to inform labor planning, and partner with warehouse teams to determine appropriate prioritization
\tManage PO allocations by FC in partnership with Buying and Vendors
\tCreate and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational success
\tIdentify process improvement opportunities for existing processes and reporting, design additional controls to solve deficiencies, and drive positive change across the organization
\tSupport Accounts Payable with the validation and auditing of new operational data flows
\tSupport the development of inventory placement models and optimizations to reduce the cost of moving our inventory throughout the network
\tTrace inventory transactions across receipt, stow, outbound, and return to identify gaps, resolve issues, and implement controls to systematically correct
\tTrack down and identify sources of data, determine the validity of the data, and analyze the variance in the data between various systems and reports
\tProvide ad-hoc analysis on revenue trends and inventory health
\tSupport processes for managing inventory exception paths to limit out-of-pocket inventory (i.e. unsellable inventory)
\tPull and report data from numerous databases (using Excel, SQL, and/or other data management systems) and dive deep via research and problem-solving techniques
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
- 3+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- Experience with SQL
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience through data and metrics
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Strong written and verbal communication
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience with Amazon inventory activity and systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
