INDUS supports the planning, coordination, and installation activities of Combat System and Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C5I) Systems in aircraft carriers, and other strike group or strike force units (including but not limited to LHA, LHD, LPD, and other L-Class units). Our team is directly responsible for supporting the planning, budgeting, and execution of New Construction (SCN) testing and modernization efforts in support of the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD).

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Passive Countermeasures System (PCMS) Shipboard Technician will be responsible for supporting the installation of PCMS material and equipment on new construction and In Service ships. The PCMS Shipboard Technician will also be responsible for material and equipment testing as well as provide training to the Ship's Crew in support of the Passive Countermeasures System Program for Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD), Modernization and Installation Department (N Department) on the CVN/L-Class Support Services contract. This position is located in Port Hueneme, CA.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary technical support during the installation of PCMS material and equipment aboard U.S. Navy ships.
  • Develop and provide input for a variety of reports and technical briefs.
  • Travel to U.S. Navy ships (in port and underway) to assemble, install, and troubleshoot equipment and combat systems.
  • Utilize the principles of Radar Cross Section reduction and be responsible for:
    • Updates/revision of the PCMS Technical Manual (TM), Access, Control, and Disposal (ACD) Manual, Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PSH&T) Manual, Laboratory Test Procedures, PCMS Material updates, Decommissioning Manual, among other duties
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:
  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • HS Diploma required.
  • Five (5) years of experience supporting combat systems, Navy operations, etc.
  • Familiarity with various shipboard combat systems and be familiar with the principles of testing within a laboratory environment, including inspection and reporting requirements involving a classified module brief describing Radar Cross Section (RCS) reduction, downrange plotting, waterfall plots and decibels relative to square meters (DBSM) measurements
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan workload and meet established deadlines.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work independently on projects and as part of a group when needed.
  • The individual must be able to clearly and concisely articulate technical subject matter both written and verbally.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work aboard ship for up to 2-4 weeks at a time.
  • Be comfortable directing operations and personnel in order to supervise and execute the installation of controlled material.
  • Ability to walk onboard and operate aboard Navy ships independently.
  • Ability to effectively brief senior level Navy personnel.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Ability to function in a shipboard environment to include climbing, working in confined spaces.
  • The ability to lift items that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area, or on-board ships, submarines, and/or in weapon facilities.
  • Travel Required ~50% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Navy experience is preferred, in particular Navy Operations, Fire Control, Electronics Technician or AIT experience.
  • Preferred experience with Inventory Control and Warehouse Management.
  • Ability to operate or learn basic functions within AutoCAD to modify existing drawings.
  • Possess an understanding of various Combat Systems in use aboard U.S. Navy ships


INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $70,000. - $105,000. The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
