Description:

As a senior business strategy advisor, you help develop plans and business intelligence; monitor business plans and performance; set targets; identify opportunities to improve service delivery; and design and deliver business strategies and solutions aligned with the business architecture of various initiatives, including the organizational transformation and shift. You lead and influence development projects and complex, highly innovative strategic initiatives involving multiple sectors. You help develop and recommend strategic directions and business positions. Your initiatives require extensive knowledge of your field. You make recommendations on the planning and execution of operationally and conceptually complex projects and initiatives that require comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in a wide range of other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as expert advisor and subject matter expert, as well as resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies. Within the newly created Growth team in Direct Commercial Lines Insurance, you will lead various growth strategies to drive sustainable expansion of the division by identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities, enhancing operational efficiencies, and fostering innovation and engagement across various distribution channels, both internal and external to the division at the EVP level. More specifically, you will be required to:
  • Advise your clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute and monitor strategic projects and initiatives
  • Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support your unit's strategic projects and initiatives
  • Identify, analyze and diagnose major issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
  • Represent your unit before decision-making bodies
  • Represent Desjardins' position when making agreements with external partners and organizations
  • Build & implement ongoing market analysis structure to identify trends, business member-client evolving needs, competitive landscape and socio-economic context
  • Develop, monitor and oversee growth strategies supported by data-driven analysis to influence decision-making and prioritization
  • Ensure optimal collaboration with various stakeholders on an executive level (EVP) and communicate growth initiative progress and performance once implemented
  • Prepare and oversee the development of executive & strategic presentations, as well as business cases
  • Coach and support the team's advisors by providing team support and ensuring collective success
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation and testing new ideas to find effective growth solutions

What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • A minimum of eight years experience, including four years experience in a strategic role
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Advanced experience in managing multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
  • Expert knowledge in creating and delivering executive-level strategic presentations
  • Demonstrated leadership through the management of larger projects with executive stakeholders
  • Available for occasional travel between offices, 4-6 times/year
