POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director role inside of DEC's M&A/Investment Team will act as a key liaison between DEC's M&A/Investment team, Executive Management, third party investment bankers, and other departments within the Company engaged in the acquisition and divestiture of oil and gas properties, both midstream and upstream. As a Director, you will be focused on the creation of financial models that will be used to analyze and forecast the potential results and metrics of various potential commercial opportunities and work horizontally across all divisions of DEC offering opportunities to drive business efficiency & analytical insights. In addition, the Director position will play a key role in sourcing and evaluating capital to fund the company's acquisitions. This role will report to the Vice President of Business Development but take significant direction from the EVP and Investment Officer. This role shall provide acquisition and operating metrics, P&L scenario modeling, variance analysis, budget development, revenue, and expense forecasting and financial modeling in conjunction with reserve-based forecasting provided by the Reservoir Engineering Department. This role will be based in Denver, Colorado where our EVP and Investment Officer is located.

Special focus will be placed on:
  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and acquisition metrics tracking
  • Facilitate communication and understanding between the Reservoir Engineering and Corporate Finance departments
  • Assist in acquisition project due diligence from both a financial perspective and well as a general business perspective
  • Interfacing with the gas and NGL marketing department, legal and land department, as well as operations during acquisition due diligence
  • Interpret financial data to assist management with strategic decisions
  • Track past acquisition activity of the team
  • Assist in preparing presentations for Executive Management approvals as well as for reporting to the Board of Directors of the Company and prepare for regular leadership reviews
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify and track industry trends and participants
  • Work closely with the accounting & finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Guide the cost analysis process by establishing compliance with policies and procedures
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
  • Perform data mining/analysis and business intelligence reporting

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-4 years of investment banking, private equity, A&D, E&P FP&A or other relevant experience with specific emphasis within the oil and gas industry
  • High proficiency in financial modeling techniques
  • Advanced knowledge and skill with MS Excel and PowerPoint applications
  • Excellent spreadsheet and financial analysis skills; using macros
  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency
  • Strong operational finance knowledge and problem resolution skills
  • Self-starter


The base pay range for this position is $180,000.00-200,000.00/yr. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to a candidate's qualifications, location, experience, and alignment with the job requirements. The range listed is just one component of Diversified Energy's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives.
