Responsibilities
You will work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, manager complex issues and optimize operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, build, and maintain cloud-based applications and services on the AWS platform & Dynatrace
- Automate deployment, observability, and management of cloud infrastructure and applications
- Stay updated with the latest AWS services, DevOps tools, and SRE & development industry best practices
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members
- Take an "always learning" approach to your role, continuing to advance your skills, knowledge
- Be an out of the box thinker; look for opportunities to learn new software and technology
- Learn and keep abreast of SRE & Development practices
- Establish Service level indicators (SLIs), Service level objectives (SLOs) and Error budgets.
- Debugs production issues across services and levels of the technology stack.
- Deploys, configures, and monitors code as well as the availability, latency, change management, emergency response, and management capacity of services in production.
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
- Relevant experience working as AWS Cloud engineer Developer & SRE Observability
- Demonstrated experience in cloud technologies, project execution.
- Hands on coding, automation and observability mandatory
- Experienced in implementing resiliency best practices for building highly available applications, infrastructure and end-to-end business flows
- Failure testing utilizing performance and Chaos Engineering practices
- Solid communications skills with prior working experience in a consulting environment
- Experience working in waterfall, scrum, agile, and other methodologies
- Good oral and written communication skills, including developing business presentations and technical writing with an ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business
Technical experience in many of the following areas:
- RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, AWS Aurora, S3, Glacier
- Deep knowledge of AWS lambda
- Development experience, Python, node.js preferable
- Kubernetes (EKS, ECS, Fargate, OpenShift)
- Migration from on prem to AWS
- Infrastructure as code - Cloud Formation, AWS CDK, Ansible, GitOps
- CI/CD - Code Build, Code Pipeline, Code Deploy, Azure DevOps
- Linux / Unix shell
- Git and various git platforms (GitHub, BitBucket, etc)
- Application migration and modernization (serverless, microservices etc.)
- Technical presentations (POC, PowerPoint) and public speaking
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity fundamentals and security best practices in cloud environments.
- A background in AWS GenAI (Bedrock, Q, Lex) is an asset for this position
