The Senior Associate Director, Medical Affairs Evolution and Metrics is responsible for developing and implementing impact measurement, metrics, and KPIs across the Medical Affairs organization. This role establishes, leads, and creates new metrics setups, ensuring seamless and efficient interfaces, and identifying opportunities for competitive advantage aligned with the Medical Affairs and Development strategy.

This position leads key initiatives including external collaboration and change management support. The role focuses on building a supportive environment to maximize business efficiency.

This leadership position is crucial for advancing the Medical Affairs function at Boehringer Ingelheim, ensuring our innovative therapies reach more patients quickly and effectively.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads the creation and implementation of the Medical Affairs metrics, ensuring alignment with the clinical adoption vision as well as with the larger metrics framework across Human Pharma.
  • Drives implementation and scaling of the metrics by leading cross-functional and international project teams with subject matter experts and technical implementation experts.
  • For the implementation of the Global Medical Affairs strategy and roadmap, oversees and coordinates the overarching program management, proactively providing guidance and oversight to the initiative leaders, ensuring that projects are timely and adequately planned and implemented (with co-creation across the HP organization), and through implementing quantifiable KPIs and reporting on the progress of the initiatives. To achieve that, the role owns the Global Medical Affairs scorecard that will demonstrate to the senior leadership across HP the Medical Affairs impact and value creation, the progress of the GMA priorities and the progress of the overarching Medical Affairs Evolution.
  • Leads Medical Affairs lighthouse initiatives that are key for the Medical Affairs evolution towards best in class, ensuring alignment with overall HP, OneMedicine and Medical Affairs priorities, and maximizing external impact through accelerated clinical adoption.
  • Stays updated on industry trends and conducts external benchmarking to identify areas for impactful innovation in Medical Affairs, with a focus on KPIs and metrics.
  • Recommends initiatives to incorporate these insights and enhance Boehringer Ingelheim's competitiveness.


Support the Medical Affairs Development Lead in developing the Global Medical Affairs strategy by:
  • Identifying gaps compared to industry best practices and suggesting initiatives to address these gaps.
  • Leading co-creation workshops across HP (including TAs and countries) to collaboratively develop the new strategy with partners.
  • Proactively proposing new strategies, innovations, and initiatives to enhance the competitiveness of Boehringer's Medical Affairs function.
  • Establishing initiatives to implement the strategy.


Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, NP, PA, Master's, M.D., DO, Ph.D., MBA)
  • Minimum eight (8) years professional experience in a healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries, including:
  • Three-plus (3+) years of prior Medical Affairs, MSL, Commercial or related pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Understanding of external healthcare landscape in one or more countries (US preferred)
  • Experience in driving and implementing strategic initiatives, ideally in a strategy, project leader or consulting role is a plus.
  • Experience in a performance measurement, process development & implementation, product management, and/or analytics role is a plus.


Eligibility Requirements :
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.


Compensation

This position offers a base salary typically between $140,000 and $222,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits please click here .
