NA Medical Capability Regional Head CH

Position Overview

As a Senior Regional Medical Affairs Leader, you play a pivotal role in developing world-class medical affairs capabilities at the regional level within Bayer's Global Consumer Health organization. You are responsible for setting priorities and strategies for talent acquisition and development, ensuring the medical organization is equipped to achieve desired outcomes. You coach regional medical teams to foster learning and build capabilities that create value for our brands, consumers, customers, and stakeholders. Your leadership embodies modern, future-oriented principles, promoting empowerment, co-creation, and innovation across teams. You oversee the development and implementation of medical strategies aligned with Consumer Health priorities, ensuring collaboration across functional areas to influence medical and safety topics. Acting as Bayer Consumer Health's most senior regional medical professional, you ensure ethical and quality-driven drug development, providing expertise and accountability for regional medical affairs strategies, safety, and compliance.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accountable for developing world-class medical affairs capabilities at the regional level;
  • Set capability development priorities and define strategies for talent acquisition and development;
  • Coach regional medical teams to build capabilities and create value for brands, consumers, and stakeholders;
  • Ensure innovative medical strategies are developed to foster consumer-centric innovation;
  • Oversee regional/local medical strategy development and implementation, ensuring alignment with Consumer Health priorities;
  • Guide evidence generation and clinical data to support marketing brand initiatives;
  • Ensure collaborative work across functional areas, engaging with regulatory and medical authorities;
  • Oversee the review of advertising and labeling copy for medical/scientific accuracy and compliance;
  • Contribute to CCDS and drug label development/renewal processes;
  • Develop and utilize fit-for-purpose medical processes and tools for compliance;
  • Ensure overall efficacy and safety of BCH products to safeguard our license to operate;
  • Provide regional/local medical expertise and accountability for medical affairs strategy, safety, and compliance;
  • Interface with Marketing, Regulatory, and Drug Safety to ensure collaboration and compliance;
  • Provide medical coaching for key presentations and submission documents to regulatory authorities.


WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:
  • Medical doctor with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the consumer health industry or adjacent life science industries, or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) with 10 years of experience, or PhD in Biology with 10 years of experience in consumer health or pharma;
  • Proven track record in highly technical areas of medical affairs, developing and leading people, and creating autonomy within a working environment;
  • Experience in developing high-performing organizations;
  • Track record in consumer health or adjacent industries with an innovative mindset balanced with compliant actions;
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with senior commercial, regulatory, product supply, and R&D leaders;
  • Ability to create a vision, make outcome-based decisions, and drive success across a global organization;
  • Strategic thinker with entrepreneurial mindset, weighing benefits and risks of actions;
  • Ability to develop and foster Thought Leader relationships and act as a spokesperson on medical affairs issues;
  • Strong influencing skills to impact decision-making within CH and external partners;
  • Business acumen and understanding of the external local/regional commercial environment.
