Description:

BarkleyOKRP is seeking a Director of Environmental Impact to support the growth of our Impact (Purpose and Sustainability). As part of the Impact department, you will also steward the agency's status as a Certified B Corporation. In this role, you will lead the strategic development of ideas, impact-based measurement and communications of social and environmental programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Sustainability program development for clients from vision, target setting, to metrics.
  • Work with the consumer research team to develop quantitative and qualitative research briefs that unearth insights to advance deeper adoption of sustainability.
  • Work with account management teams to craft briefs and collaborate with creative teams to preserve the integrity of impact-based ideas - avoiding misleading claims or greenwashing.
  • Develop strategies and drive programs that advance the reduction of a brand's environmental footprint.
  • Present research, strategies and purpose or sustainability-based concepts to clients, new business partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Engage cross-functional teams to champion sustainability initiatives across internal teams, clients, or external partners
  • Monitor and interpret key sustainability and purpose trends for clients.

Qualifications:
  • At least 8 years of experience or education in an Environmental Sustainability and Strategic Communications rile either in-house or consultancy.
  • Experience in applying social and environmental principles into brand narratives and marketing campaigns.
  • Expertise in measuring and analyzing greenhouse gas footprints against international standards (e.g GHG Protocol)
  • Strong command of ESG disclosure frameworks (e.g. CSRD, CDP ) metrics and lifecycle assessments to measure and communicate impact

Experience leading sustainability workshops or panels where collaborating across creative, media, and strategy departments to implement green practices was required
  • Ability to translate complex environmental data or goals into compelling, consumer-friendly insights and storytelling that resonate across key audiences.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources, such as trade journals, research reports, white papers and cross-tabulated survey data.
  • Ability to draft reports, presentations, white papers and general business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively support moderating and presentation of ideas and results to customers, clients and employees.
  • Excellent reasoning ability: define problems, collect information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions based upon information furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Project management experience, attention to detail, ability to manage work across with different priorities and timescales.
