Job Summary:

The National Real Estate Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of real estate management, including leasing, office relocations, and buildouts across all office locations and facilities operations for the corporate headquarters. This role provides strategic leadership in optimizing the company's office footprint, negotiating lease agreements, and ensuring office environments align with business needs.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Real Estate Strategy & Portfolio Management
  • Develop and execute a national real estate strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee lease negotiations, renewals, terminations, and other vendor contracts ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Ensure optimal space utilization, cost-efficiency, and alignment with company growth plans.
  • Lead office relocation and buildout projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Evaluate and recommend real estate opportunities for expansion, consolidation, or optimization.
  • Manage relationships with landlords, real estate brokers, architects, contractors, and other service providers.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of all leases, including key dates, financial obligations, and renewal options.


Facilities & Office Operations Oversight
  • Ensure home office is properly maintained, functional, and aligned with company needs.
  • Oversee facility upgrades, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure office environments support productivity and employee experience.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness, safety protocols, and business continuity planning for office facilities.


Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the National Real Estate Manager and Office Operations Manager to ensure operational excellence.
  • Set clear performance goals, provide coaching, and foster professional development.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer service within the real estate and facilities team


Financial & Budget Management
  • Develop and manage the annual real estate and office operations budget.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in real estate operations.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance related to leasing, buildouts, and facilities expenses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Utilizes recruiting and selection tools/processes to build organizational talent
  • Delegates work according to employee's abilities and skills
  • Evaluates employee's performance and plans for compensation actions in accordance with that performance

  • Creates opportunities for employee growth
  • Provides continuous coaching with regard to functional and leadership standards (technical skills and behaviors)

Required Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in corporate real estate, leasing, facilities management, or related fields with at least 3-5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Proven experience in lease negotiations, space planning, and/or office relocations/buildouts preferred.
  • Experience leading teams and managing large-scale projects with the ability to work independently while balancing the planning and management of multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to manage large-scale projects and work independently while balancing the planning and management of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced negotiation skills with experience managing real estate contracts.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of financial planning and budgeting as it relates to the department, construction and project budgeting, lease negotiation, project and construction management and office real estate optimization.
  • Understanding of architectural drawings, construction contract bidding and negotiation process.
