Reference Data & Platform Strategy and Support team is responsible for facilitating the modernization and maintaining the viability of Schwab systems that support account open and maintenance, client onboarding, transfer of assets, new products/initiatives and fraud prevention. The team leverages its business and technical expertise in partnership with business and technology stakeholders to implement a strategic vision for the platform including participation in design, requirements development, prioritization, development, testing and certification activities. The Product Owner (PO) plays a critical role in realization of the platform vision with focus on individual systems and their enterprise interdependencies.

Key Functions:

Working hand in hand with an agile scrum team, the Product Manager (individual contributor) manages user story creation, prioritization, grooming, UAT, and oversight for top digital client experience as well as the primary point of contact for all production bugs and client escalations across the website and retail application. The Product Manager must be a client advocate, understanding client personas and associated needs, clearly define questions for Research and Analysis. The ability to quickly learn complex technical systems and think outside the box when problem solving is critical to meeting the dynamic demands of the business.

The Product Manager Will
  • Partner with leaders in communications, field integration, product development and the business to drive the successful implementations of process redesign initiatives.
  • Work with a multitude of stakeholders in operations to document requirements that drive transformational change to existing business processes.
  • Direct and coordinate requirements projects and activities that span multiple technology teams across the company.
  • Gather and document requirements as user stories, translating functional requirements to technical requirements, and identifying options.
  • Partner with a Product Owner to establish a vision and execution strategy for the scrum team.
  • Supporting users' post-deployment, identifying issues, and driving resolution with our Technology partners
  • Partner with business users and act as a liaison between business and technical teams.
  • Coordinates development, testing, and implementation of solutions with vendors.
  • Highlight product features and tell stories in a manner clearly understandable to the development team.
  • Help to manage and develop product backlog, as well as user stories backlog for implementation.
  • Participate in backlog grooming meetings with aligned scrum team.
  • Attend sprint planning and demo meetings to provide feedback on sprint achievements & goals.
  • Monitor the progress of product development and assist with product release planning and testing.
  • Collaborates cross enterprise with process owners, channel owners, oversight, legal, compliance, and users creating solutions that are synergistic to the platform.


What you have

This role requires a highly motivated, organized, and experienced business-focused technology individual with a proven record of software delivery in a rapidly changing agile environment.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst with track record of delivering business process requirements and use cases is required.
  • Solid experience and understanding of Agile in developing epics, themes, user stories, supplementary requirements, and business rules is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision- making and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in technical field
  • Experience driving innovative and strategic enterprise data solutions.
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence tools is required.
  • A background in the financial services industry is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical analysis or operations experience for an investment management firm with focus on data-related functions highly preferred.
