Position Summary

Assigns work and provides direct supervision, training, and coaching to clerical staff.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $98,000

Bay Area Maximum: $146,000

&/OR

California Minimum: $93,000

California Maximum: $139,000
  • This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
  • This position is hybrid. You will work from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs. The headquarters location is San Jose.


Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business partners for all for new business work streams, including applicant installed facilities inspections and construction
  • Standardize office procedures and communicate information on new processes and procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly Department reports.
  • Assure proper office staffing, train new/relief clerks, track apprentice programs, and conduct classification-specific training/testing.
  • Demonstrate and influence positive relations with internal and external clients. Provide leadership and direction to clerical employees. Identify and assess employee skill sets. Provide job training and utilize the most effective combination of on-the-job training, mentoring, formal courses, and/or self-paced material.
  • Audit clerical processes to be compliant with Company standards.
  • Analyze, summarize, and develop strategic plans, communicating areas of success or plans for adjustments to improve results to an acceptable level of performance.
  • Manage office equipment inventory.
  • Ensure close alignment with field supervisors to ensure overall company success and service to external and internal customers. Share resources within the field to ensure customer perception results in a seamless operation.

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Supervises a team of nonexempt clerical employees.


Qualifications

Minimum:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Six plus years of administrative experience or other relevant experience

Desired:
  • BS degree
  • Three plus years of experience supervising nonexempt employees
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Knowledge of IBEW Clerical bargaining-unit contract


Supplemental Information:
  • Travel may be required to support the field offices and attend meetings and training. The office may be in a trailer in a multi-department yard.
  • Travel at least 30% of the time with occasional overnight stays.
  • Willing to work overtime on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Field visits may involve some or all of the following activities: traversing rock/uneven/steep terrain, climbing up and down stairs and ladders, exposure to insects and pests (mosquitoes, bees, spiders, snakes, ticks, rodents, etc.), traveling on narrow and rough mountains, and/or inclement weather conditions (dusty, rocky, muddy, snowy, icy conditions).
