Position Summary
CVS Media Exchange (CMX) is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for our suppliers, merchants, stores, GMs, brand advertisers, agencies, and Pharma clients. Our full-funnel ad solutions leverage CVS's in-store and online data, extensive reach, and ad technology to provide measurable results for our clientele. With a range of flexible pricing and buying models, including self-service, these solutions help businesses build brand awareness, engage with CVS consumers, and convert CVS consumers to shoppers.
As the Director of Creative Product, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of creative innovation at CMX. This role oversees the entire creative process - from concept development and personalization strategies to scalable creative production and performance optimization - ensuring impactful, high-performing creative across channels and formats via our enabling technologies.
A key component of this role includes navigating the new paths that AI creates, driving automation, dynamic creative optimization (DCO), and personalized ad experiences at scale. You will build and manage the technical product roadmap, aligning business and technical needs while serving as the "voice of creative" for both internal and external stakeholders. Your leadership will drive the development of creative automation, personalization, and innovative ad formats by partnering with key internal teams - including Strategic Partnerships, Marketing & Creative, Tech Foundations, Operations, and Analytics - and onboarding strategic external partners to expand our capabilities.
This role calls for a blend of creative vision and product expertise. The ideal candidate will bring a strong product mindset, combining business assessment, business case development, MVP definition, and roadmap creation with cross-functional alignment as well as CVSH enterprise coordination. You will inspire creative excellence, foster collaboration, and champion emerging ad formats-ensuring CMX remains at the forefront of retail media creativity.
The Director of Creative Product you will spearhead CMX's creative-technical roadmap, leveraging AI and other cutting-edge technologies to deliver engaging ad experiences for our clients, while ensuring creative quality, brand integrity, and operational efficiency.
Location:
This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office, Tuesday - Thursday) at one of our hubs (NYC, Boston, Woonsocket, Blue Bell, Wellesley or Chicago).

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.

Strategic Leadership:
- Define and drive the tech & business system vision and strategy for CMX creative, balancing innovation, operational efficiencies, and brand considerations.
- Develop a comprehensive roadmap that integrates emerging technologies' capabilities, personalization strategies, and cutting-edge ad formats.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align creative solutions with business objectives and client needs.
Creative Innovation & AI Integration:
- Leverage AI tools for creative automation, dynamic creative optimization (DCO), and personalized ad experiences.
- Explore new ad formats, including AI-generated video, interactive content, and generative AI for text, image, and motion creative.
- Identify opportunities for AI to enhance creative performance through predictive insights and multi-variant testing.
Operational Efficiencies:
- Drive workflow automation to streamline creative briefing, production, and approval processes.
- Collaborate with Product and Tech teams to integrate creative tools into existing ad tech stacks (DSPs, CDPs, etc.).
- Define processes for AI-assisted creative refreshes, ensuring real-time optimization without compromising quality.
Measurement & Performance Optimization:
- Establish KPIs for creative effectiveness - engagement rates, conversion lift, ad fatigue reduction, etc.
- Partner with Analytics to build data integrations that inform creative optimizations and campaign planning.
- Develop test-and-learn frameworks to assess new technologies (i.e. AI versus human-designed creative performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Align with Strategic Partnerships to assess and onboard new technology partners.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Media teams to ensure creative strategies support broader roadmap & goals.
- Partner with Product to drive innovative solutions for creative personalization and audience-specific messaging.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Inspire and mentor a team of Product Mangers and Cross-functional stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Champion AI adoption within the creative process, ensuring tools and processes enhance productivity and innovation.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of product management experience, with a focus on AI, creative technology, or ad tech solutions.
- 3+ years of strong leadership skills, with a track record of aligning cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.
- 5+ years of expertise in advertising technology, including DSPs, CDPs, and measurement tools.
- 2+ years of familiarity with AI creative partners (e.g., Celtra, VidMob, Jivox, Adobe Firefly) and their capabilities.
- 2+ years of strong analytical skills, with experience defining and tracking KPIs to measure product performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of data privacy and brand governance considerations in AI creative development.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of influencing stakeholders and driving consensus.
- Familiarity with emerging ad formats, including interactive and immersive experiences.
- Proven experience developing and launching AI-powered creative solutions, such as dynamic creative optimization, personalized ad formats, and generative AI.
- Experience with AI-powered video and image generation platforms.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, technical, or creative field (e.g., engineering, computer science, data science, marketing, or design) or equivalent (HS Diploma + 4 yrs experience) required.
- MBA or Master's degree preferred.
