Responsibilities

About the role: The Commercial Credit Manager is responsible for supervision, leadership, guidance, and necessary training for designated team members. The Commercial Credit Manager will also research and analyze credit risks, financial statements, assess credit history and approve or deny extension of credit to potential consumer and commercial customers. Develops and maintains positive business relationships with dealers, customers, field sales staff and supporting departments within GMF. Render appropriate credit decisions for moderately complex commercial financing requests.

What you will be doing:
  • Analyze, evaluate and decisionredit requests within authorized lending limits; provide review and support for concurrence requests submitted by Credit Analysts, and evaluate credit requests exceeding authorized lending limits and prepare recommendations to senior management
  • Analyze commercial credit applications to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit and make prudent business decisions to approve or deny the extension of credit within established credit authority
  • Analyze financial statements, collateral, debt service, as applicable to the size and complexity of the commercial transaction
  • Ensure accuracy and sound recommendations with CreditQuest routings
  • Make appropriate recommendations for commercial Lines of Credit
  • Respond to incoming complaints or credit decision escalation appeals (dealer/customers), ensuring they are handled in a thorough, professional, and satisfactory manner
  • Primary referral point for subordinates requiring guidance and assistance in discussing and making a decision on complex deals
  • Prepare credit analysis reviews on specific dealers, markets or regions as required to ensure results are being optimized


Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of credit underwriting and vehicle leasing.
  • Significant Financial Statement Analysis Experience
  • Excellent customer service / relationship management skills
  • Understanding of dealer operations
  • Knowledge of reporting and analytics
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of dealership, fleet/commercial and indirect auto finance industry operations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office


Experience:
  • Minimum three years of previous credit analysis experience required
  • Knowledge of Automotive Leasing/Captive Lending required
  • Financial statement analysis experience required
  • 2-3 years management experience preferred
  • Secondary School
  • Bachelors degree in related field preferred

Salary

The base salary range for this role is: CAD $68,900.00 to $130,800.00.

At GM Financial, we strive for transparency in all aspects of our business, including pay equity. This is the GM Financial pay range for this role and job level. The exact salary and compensation will vary based on factors like knowledge, skills, experience, and education.

This role is eligible to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. Full time employees are eligible to participate in health benefits after 30 days of employment.
