Primary Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment related issues pertaining to advance fiber placement (AFP) machines, autoclaves, pattern cutters, ovens, filament winders, braiders, and machining centers. Work with machine manufactures to expedite repairs to avoid schedule impact.
  • Define plans to support; equipment qualification, total productive maintenance (TPM), Preventive Maintenance (PM) Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Remaining Useful Life (RUL), equipment reliability, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and spare parts.
  • Initiate process improvements focused on cycle time reduction, machine efficiency, and defect reduction.
  • Generate and maintain equipment, Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis PFMEA, and risk matrix.
  • Generate part specific programming to support Pattern Cutting, Autoclaves, Laser Projection, CNC, and NDI.


    • 2+ years experience in programming and/or equipment maintenance tasks.
    • BS in designated Engineering or related field


    Preferred Additional Skills:

    • DMAIC, DFSS, LEAN, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Mistake Proofing, DOE, DFx
    • Experience with training technicians and others in the correct techniques for operating equipment
    • Knowledge of composite materials a plus
    • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) a plus
    • Knowledge of OSIsoft PI System a plus
    • Working in/Leading a multi-disciplined team
    • GD&T
    • Ability to pick up and program software systems is a must
    • Green Belt Certified a plus
    • Experience in CATIA V5, Vericut, FiberSIM, and TruNEST a plus
    • Aerospace manufacturing a plus
    • Knowledge of Windchill and SAP
