Why This Role Is Exciting
An exciting opportunity exists within Loblaw's Talent Strategy Centre of Expertise for a Director, Talent Acquisition Operations & Strategy. This high-impact leadership role is central to advancing and optimizing the Talent Acquisition (TA) function across Canada's largest private employer. You will be at the forefront of shaping Loblaw's enterprise-wide recruitment practices, leading strategic initiatives, and ensuring we attract, engage, and retain top talent through an innovative and inclusive lens. Additionally, this position will have oversight for Recruitment Operations, Employment Branding, Colleague Value Proposition and Social Media Strategy

What You'll Do

As Director, you will:

  • Lead enterprise-wide recruitment process improvement initiatives using lean, agile, and process engineering methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.


  • Champion major enterprise recruiting projects, such as automation rollouts, AI integration, and CRM tool implementation.


  • In partnership with the Manager of Employer Branding, manage Loblaw's Colleague Value Proposition (CVP), social media strategy, and employer brand positioning.


  • Collaborate with other Centre of Excellence teams, HR Business Partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to provide consultative support, insights, and strategic direction.


  • Work closely with the People, Process and Technology team to identify and implement improvements to our Workday ATS experience.


  • Manage content, host workshops, co-chair meetings, and coach TA professionals to elevate capabilities and share best practices.


  • Ensure that all recruitment strategies and processes are grounded in equity, diversity, and inclusive best practices.


  • Oversee relationships with key TA vendors (e.g., staffing agencies, background check providers, automation/AI tools).


  • Manage recruiting metrics and analytics dashboards, delivering insights and recommendations for continuous optimization.


  • Ensure adherence to recruitment policies, including background screening, preferred vendors, and other best practice standards.


  • Mentor and engage your team and peers to foster a culture of growth, collaboration, and operational excellence.


What You'll Need to Succeed

  • 8+ years in a senior HR or Talent Acquisition leadership role, preferably within a large, complex organization.


  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists


  • Demonstrated success in leading multi-stakeholder projects from concept through to execution and sustainment.


  • Deep understanding of recruitment processes, tools, and trends, including hands-on leadership experience.


  • Strong background in employer branding, colleague value propositions, and digital/social media talent attraction strategies.


  • Solid experience working with Workday and other ATS/CRM platforms; a track record of implementing innovative HR technology.


  • Advanced proficiency in data interpretation, insights generation, and recruitment analytics to inform decisions.


  • Ability to translate vision into actionable strategies, with strong critical thinking and analytical skills.


  • Experience leading change in dynamic environments, including creating and executing communication and change plans.


  • A degree in Human Resources, Communications, or Marketing is an asset. CHRP/CHRL certification is also considered a strong advantage.
