POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Qcells is seeking an experienced manager to help lead a team through Qcells' entry into the New Homes space with solar, ESS, and load control for home builders. You will be part of the new homes operations team, creating and developing systems and processes to optimize the efficiency of obtaining permission to operate (PTO) for all homes. You will play a critical role in establishing positive working relationships with contacts in all active electrical utilities. You will create process documentation unique to each utility and lead a team to process all applications and approvals completely and expeditiously. This role is pivotal in ensuring new residential projects are placed in service as quickly as possible after the builder transfers ownership to the homebuyer.
This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Teaneck, NJ, with a potential in-office schedule set at the direct manager's discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote work may be considered for exceptional cases.

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job's minimum qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop optimal interconnection processes unique to each electrical utility according to their requirements
- Collaborate with contacts withing each utility to establish simple logical solutions aligned with new home construction variables for application submittal and processing.
- Maintain awareness of rate structure changes and advise the company of the possible financial impact to product offerings and buyer satisfaction.
- Work with internal departments on solutions for project status visibility and set benchmarks for team performance.
- Explore and make recommendations on possible process automation, bulk processing, permit scrapers, and other time/labor saving mechanisms.
- Interact with builder representatives to provide regular reporting on internal performance, general PTO timeline expectations, and per home application status.
- Maintain a rapport with builder electrical services managers or equivalent to maintain efficient communication regarding unique account information and access. Leverage limited power of attorney authorizations to directly access builder utility account information when possible.
- Track and report on team performance vs established targets in alignment with QCells goals and requirements. Minimize close-to-PTO cycle times.
- Advise teams on potential interconnection application and rate structure implications related to system size changes when required.
- Create and maintain QA/QC expectations for application preparation.
- Assist in interconnections team recruitment, training, and management.
- Bachelor's degree in business management, economics, finance, marketing or other related field with a minimum of 8+ years' professional work experience including 5+ years' experience in residential new homes solar development or residential construction management.
- Deep understanding of the homebuilding solar industry and its market dynamics.
- Basic understanding of solar system sizing inputs and system production drivers.
- Experience interacting with utilities and electric service applications/approvals process.
- Ability to ideate, develop and execute strategic plans, in close collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
- Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced customer-centric environment where priorities may change quickly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, team management, including managing multiple contractors.
- Impeccable attention to detail as well as a detailed analytical thinker with the ability to solve problems and adjust to changing conditions and situations.
