Position Purpose:
This position exists to support the San Jos Iturbide Plant in producing a high-quality product at the lowest possible cost via correct quality planning, effective in process controls and continuous improvement activities throughout the plant.
The successful holder of this position will work to maximize customer satisfaction related to the quality assurance and advancement functions of the San Jos Iturbide plant through the improvement of existing manufacturing processes, as well as through development, implementation, and maintenance of new and improved quality related processes.

Main Responsibilities:

The Quality Engineer is functionally responsible for:
1. Design, develop, coordinate, and deploy work instructions/procedures and associated process controls.
2. Ensure these documents are aligned to the applicable industry standards and Timken objectives, policies and procedures.
3. Develop process improvements and cost control programs.
4. Review customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure compliance with stated requirements.
5. Provide technical support to operations and customers.
6. Lead formal problem solving for internal and external customer complaints.
7. Guide and/or provide technical advice and counsel for continuous improvement and problem solving.
8. Participate in the development of PFMEAs and continuously promote plans to reduce risks.
9. Create Control Plans per AIAG and other applicable standards.
10. Ensure that quality practices at the facility are aligned with the Timken Quality Policy
11. Ensure that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements.
12. Lead the corrective action process using 8D, 5 Why, 5C, A3, and other lean tools.
13. Communicate quality issues to front line leaders and factory personnel and lead root cause and permanent corrective action documentation.
14. Direct the disposition and investigation of returned material and internal non-conforming product. Ensure that actions around top pareto items are identified and completed.
15. Provide quality training to new associates and refresh quality training to all personnel.
16. Define, implement, and improve quality metrics for customer satisfaction, San Jose Iturbide's quality performance, preventive quality and quality cost in all areas assigned.
17. Develop Poka-yoke and other preventive quality tools to improve customer satisfaction and/or reduce cost.
18. Establish reaction plans for cases where potential incorrectly measured products have been produced
19. Other duties assigned.

Education / Experience

Required - Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, or related with 3+ years' of experience.
