Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Senior Environmental Controls Systems Manager (Level L) to join the team in Everett, WA. This position reports to the Director & Chief Engineer of Environmental Control Systems (ECS).

Position Overview

As a leader of the Certification and Skill Team within the Environmental Control Systems (ECS) function of BCA Engineering, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of aviation for both commercial and defense customers. In this role, you will lead and inspire a team of first-line leaders and individual contributors engaged in engineering, technical, and regulatory tasks across ECS. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • Leads, develops, and motivates employees and first-level managers engaged in engineering and technical activities
  • Collaborates globally across the Enterprise to ensure functional and technical excellence for the Environmental Control Systems skill
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical oversight, and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Forecast, hire, and onboard the function's staffing demands and capabilities needed to balance the work and maintain critical skills


Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett, WA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in airplane systems engineering
  • 3+ years of management experience leading engineering teams
  • Experience in teaching, coaching, leading by influence, and developing others effectively
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values and Behaviors
  • Leadership experience in team building and motivating cross-functional teams to enhance engagement and performance
  • Ability to fostering a collaborative environment that drives team success
  • Experience in Environmental Control Systems or Aircraft Systems
  • Knowledge and experience in certification processes and standards
  • Experience with Development Programs and/or Sustaining Programs

Summary Pay Range:
  • $171,700 - $232,300
