About the Role

We're seeking a Manager of Application Development to lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative solutions that enhance enterprise and core banking applications. In this role, you'll oversee a team of developers and work cross-functionally to build and support critical systems that drive operational efficiency, user experience, and business outcomes.

This position is ideal for a tech-forward leader with a background in financial institution technologies who thrives in collaborative, agile environments and is passionate about coaching high-performing teams.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and manage a team of application developers, with a focus on mentorship, productivity, and professional growth.
  • Oversee development and integration efforts across core banking systems and enterprise platforms (e.g., Symitar, Synapsys, MeridianLink).
  • Collaborate with IT, business units, and the PMO to deliver solutions that align with project goals and enterprise architecture.
  • Drive continuous improvement in development processes, testing practices, and documentation.
  • Define coding standards, review code for quality assurance, and ensure compliance with security and governance protocols.
  • Act as a key liaison with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to implement integrated solutions.
  • Monitor performance metrics and user feedback to optimize system functionality and user experience.

What You Bring

Required:
  • 6+ years of experience working with financial institution technologies such as Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange), MeridianLink, Encompass, or similar.
  • Strong foundation in software development methodologies, version control systems, and testing practices.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams, coaching developers, and guiding product or project delivery.
  • Ability to effectively influence executive leadership and navigate cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with agile project management frameworks and practices.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Hands-on development experience with Symitar PowerOn / RepGen.
  • Knowledge of IBM AIX, SQL, HTML, JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and implementation of engineering process frameworks.

Working Environment
