Sacyr is seeking an experienced Heavy Highway/Civil Senior Estimator to join our preconstruction team in Orlando or Miami, FL.

As a Senior Estimator, candidates will have the knowledge and experience to prepare contract proposal estimates for all scopes of work on typical highway and heavy civil projects, including the interpretation and takeoff of project plans and specifications to complete a full estimate of the work.

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for all scopes of work for all methods of procurement from bid-build to P3s and negotiated projects for our North American market. The Senior Estimator will have the experience to both assist and function in many of the roles of the Chief Estimator.

Essential Job Functions

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Prepare estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of scope of work.
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
• Utilize HCSS estimating software to develop a comprehensive project estimate and ability to participate in the management of the estimate.
• Communicate with vendors in support of quotations.
• Review plans and specifications and recommend best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to junior estimating staff.
• Attend in person and virtual meetings representing Sacyr Construction in design build and proposal developments.

Qualifications

• 7 years of estimating experience and/or related project management training with large heavy civil projects is preferred.
• Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) is required.
• Proficient experience with Bluebeam or other takeoff software is required.
• HCSS Heavy Bid experience and/or related software for pricing work is required.
• The capability to build and manage a P6 CPM schedule on projects is preferred.
• Strong computer, communication, and time management skills.
