Salary Range: $87,028 - 108,785 per/Year
Shift Type: Full-Time
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports To: Chief Officer - Communications
EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Supports the department's efforts to share information with internal and external audiences and present a positive image of the district. Works to facilitate meaningful acknowledgement of student and employee achievements through recognition opportunities and special events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related field
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Willingness and ability to work as part of a creative team.
Flexibility and willingness to take on new duties as necessary.
Understanding and acceptance of professional confidentiality.
Effective time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects at one time.
Self-starter mentality; ability to work with limited supervision.
Strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of good public relations practices.
Proficiency with common software programs as well as an aptitude for learning new software as necessary.
Experience:
Demonstrated success organizing and managing events.
At least two years of experience in a professional communications role.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Plan and coordinate multiple district events.
Write and edit communication materials like newsletters, emails, and presentations.
Manage/organize school board recognition of students and special guests.
Collaborate with other departments to develop and align communications.
Update/maintain content for district websites.
Train, support and manage campus users of communication tools (website, notifications, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintaining a service-minded attitude.
Maintaining emotional control under stress.
Physical demands/environmental factors:
Occasional travel out of town for professional learning opportunities.

Occasional evening or weekend hours beyond the regular work day required.
