As we continue to strengthen our commitment to service excellence, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Compliance Director to join our team and help ensure that our standards of care, professionalism, and regulatory excellence are upheld across all locations.

The Compliance Director plays a critical role in upholding Proud Moments' commitment to ethical practices and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel, this leader is responsible for managing the organization's comprehensive compliance program, ensuring consistent adherence to internal policies, federal and state regulations, and the seven standard elements of an effective compliance framework. The Compliance Director will lead internal auditing and monitoring efforts to proactively identify and address potential risks, conduct confidential and privileged investigations into reported concerns, and provide ongoing education and training to staff to promote compliance awareness and reinforce best practices across the organization.

Proud Moments ABA is a behavioral health organization, providing the gold standard of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children on the autism spectrum from birth to age 21. Responsibilities

As the Compliance Director at Proud Moments ABA, you will play a critical role in ensuring the organization's commitment to regulatory excellence and ethical standards. Below are the primary duties and responsibilities associated with this role (please note this list may not include all tasks that may be assigned):
  • Assist the Compliance Officer in the development and execution of the company's Compliance Program to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal audit plans with monitoring of compliance related activities to include, but not limited to, billing, coding, and documentation of healthcare services.
  • Responsible for the effectiveness of the Compliance program through ongoing daily auditing, monitoring and education of compliance related activities to include HIPAA, privacy, limitations, disclosures, outside activities and other related compliance matters.
  • Responsible for investigating, tracking and trending potential privacy breaches and making appropriate notifications to parties for follow up reporting as required by state and federal law.
  • Travel to company locations to review physical plant for adherence to compliance and safety regulations.
  • Responsible for implementing compliance related policies.
  • Responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure best practices are in place.
  • Responsible to investigate, analyze, respond and trend all compliance hotline reports received and to recommend and implement corrective action plans when needed.
  • Travel to locations when required for investigations.
  • Responsible for preparing and reporting activities to the Compliance Officer.
  • Assist with other duties and projects as needed.
  • Travel of up to 50%.


Qualifications

As an ideal Compliance Director candidate, you bring to Proud Moments ABA:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in healthcare, law, compliance, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in healthcare compliance or a regulated healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within one year of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare billing practices, coding, and regulatory terminology.
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership presence and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven administrative and organizational skills, including the ability to develop training materials, manage time effectively, and analyze compliance-related data.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other commonly used business software tools.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and adaptable with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across departments and levels of seniority.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, and the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.
