Overview:

As a member of the Financial Planning & Analysis team at BRE Hotels & Resorts, the FP&A Analyst provides operational, financial, and analytical support to multiple departments, including C-Suite, Asset Management, Investments, and Design & Construction. The FP&A Analyst will collaborate closely with management to analyze and identify opportunities for growth and profitability. The support provided enables our Executive team to make critical decisions that drive overall business performance. This position is a great entry-level opportunity to interact daily with senior leadership while gaining invaluable exposure to all facets of the hotel real estate industry. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Vice President, Finance.

As of the date on which this job advertisement is posted, the Company anticipates that the base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000 (this represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Company's base salary range for this position). Total direct compensation may also include discretionary bonus and/or incentive compensation. Actual base salary range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.

Responsibilities:

As the FP&A Analyst, one is held accountable to but, not limited to, the following job functions:
  • Support key hotel-level financial analyses for the company, including analyzing profit and growth opportunities, as well as multi-year forecasts and annual budget processes
  • Work alongside asset and revenue management teams to improve asset/portfolio performance
  • Champion all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting requirements, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
  • Utilize business intelligence tools to build reports and promote self-service reporting
  • Execute data automation strategies and reporting processes
  • Partner in the development of complex forecasting models and analytics to improve operational efficiencies
  • Collaborate in opportunistic ROI analyses and capital allocation decisions
  • Conduct extensive research and perform financial analysis on the hospitality and real estate industries
  • Assist in the preparation of trimester Board of Directors presentation materials
  • Create various ad hoc reports and perform analyses as required


Essential Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Hospitality/Hotel Management, Business, Finance, or Real Estate
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related business experience


Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel, and PowerPoint, with an emphasis on database and Business Intelligence tools
  • Solid understanding of foundational accounting based on USALI (P&L and Balance Sheet) and traditional finance cycle (Annual Plan, Forecast, etc.)
  • Firm grasp of technical corporate finance concepts (NPV, IRR, cost of capital)
  • Innovative financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling skills with the ability to translate analysis quickly into practical results
  • Proven ability and maturity to work and learn new systems in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all levels in the organization
  • Smart, hard-working, detail-oriented, proactive, ambitious, and responsible, with strong interpersonal skills and teamwork/partnering ability
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, working both independently and as part of a team to ensure timely deliverables


Base Compensation Range:
$100,000.00 To $110,000.00. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Company's base compensation range for this position. Actual base compensation range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.

Total Direct Compensation: This job is also eligible for discretionary bonus and incentive compensation on an annual basis.
