We are seeking a highly experienced Cost Accounting Manager to lead our cost accounting function and act as a strategic business partner to the Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Logistics departments. This role is critical in driving financial transparency, supporting operational efficiency, and enhancing cost management initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing finance, proven leadership in ERP implementation projects (preferably Sage X3), and deep expertise in cost accounting processes and analytics.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cost Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Lead the manufacturing cost accounting function, including standard costing, variance analysis, overhead allocation, and inventory valuation.
- Prepare and analyze manufacturing P&L, product cost reports, and cost roll-ups.
- Monitor and report on manufacturing KPIs and key cost drivers, providing actionable insights to operations leadership.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes related to manufacturing and inventory.
Business Partnership
- Serve as the primary finance partner to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams, offering insights and financial guidance to support operational decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve inventory accuracy, and streamline supply chain operations.
- Drive financial accountability across operations through regular review meetings, cost performance tracking, and project evaluations.
ERP Implementation & Process Improvement
- Lead or support ERP implementation projects (with preference for Sage X3), focusing on finance, cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing modules.
- Collaborate with IT and operational stakeholders to define and execute project plans, ensuring seamless data integration and process optimization.
- Troubleshoot ERP issues and ensure finance processes are accurately represented in system configurations.
- Train finance and operations teams on ERP functionalities and best practices.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and relevant accounting standards.
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory and cost accounting.
- Maintain documentation of cost accounting methodologies and ERP-related processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CMA preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience partnering with manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain teams.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems implementation, preferably Sage X3.
- Deep understanding of standard costing, cost variance analysis, and inventory control.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage complex projects with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Prior experience in multi-site or global manufacturing organizations.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION:
- Classification: Full-time
- Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience; includes equity package
- The base salary range for this position is $ 138,000 - $158,000 per year, which represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this exempt position.
- Please note that actual offer will vary based on factors including, but not limited to the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors including internal equity. As such, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the lower or upper end of the range. Please also note the compensation range listed is just one component of the company's total rewards package. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
