The Department of Pediatrics at Mayo Clinic in La Crosse, WI, is seeking board certified/board eligible inpatient pediatricians/pediatric hospitalists to join a physician-led organization in a community practice. The department provides coverage to the Special Care Nursery in La Crosse in collaboration with the local Family Medicine Residency Program. The Family Birthplace birthing center in La Crosse experiences approximately 600 births annually. A team of Rochester-based pediatric specialists also provide outreach services in La Crosse on a scheduled basis.
The scope of the inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist duties include:
The standard shift for the full-time (1.0 FTE) inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist is 12 hours per day in-house for a total of 24 weeks per year.

Qualifications
Candidates must be board certified / board eligible with the American Board of Pediatrics and be licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of Wisconsin.

The scope of the inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist duties include:
- Direct care of admitted pediatric patients within the hospital (typically 50 admissions annually)
- Consultations with colleagues on pediatric patients from within the region (clinic or hospital-based)
- Precepting and direct teaching of residents and other trainees, as re: research and other academic pursuits
- Citizenship and advancement of the inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist practice
