A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Head of Commissioning & Engineering Team 1 in GCO (Global Customer Operations), you will develop and implement strategic plans for the Engineering & Commissioning, aligning them with overall business objectives. You will lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of engineers and managers, ensuring alignment to engineering standards and best practices while overseeing the development and implementation of solutions in one of more of the industry verticals - Process Industries, Oil Gas and Chemicals and Maritime. Additionally, you will collaborate with multi-functional teams globally in other regions and build strong relationships with key partners to ensure seamless project execution and commissioning for projects in support of the global business.

This role may be based in Houston, TX or Alpharetta, GA and will require relocation. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits, including paid time off and holiday pay. For positions based in the United States, the base salary range is $175,000 to $225,000 annually, and the annual incentive target is from 15% to 20% of the base salary.
Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

- Develop and implement plans for the Engineering & Commissioning teams, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and adherence to engineering standards and best practices across all projects and designs.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of engineers and managers, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and development.
- Oversee the development and implementation of projects within industry verticals, collaborating with multi-functional teams globally to ensure seamless project execution through commissioning.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both external and internal, including customers and functional teams across global customer operations.
- Define and manage budgets, utilization, absorption, and other critical metrics for engineering and commissioning of the staff and department, while supporting the development of global engineering centers.
- Support sales in the development of opportunities and during the bid process, driving knowledge transfer and competence buildup between regions.
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or equivalent) with at least 10 years of management and leadership experience. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
- Experience managing project delivery with the highest standards, including project development from concept through commissioning (EPC experience a plus).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to develop and implement functional strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Understanding of portfolio, industry verticals, and engineering standards, and proficiency with technology and tools to standardize and implement for the function.
- Defining continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency through processes, standards, tools, and design methodologies.
- Willingness to travel domestically or internationally up to 25%.
