Recently selected by Cox Communications to power its next-generation broadband network, the Entra vCMTS is positioned for growth. We need talented, committed Customer Success Engineers to work alongside Vecima and Cox Teams on-site at Cox Communications' Atlanta facility to help us deliver and support this innovative platform.

Position Summary:

As a Principal Customer Success Engineer at Vecima you will be responsible for taking ownership of customer network monitoring and telemetry integration and verification, product qualifications, field trials and deployment for virtualized CMTS solution. You will collaborate with the customer to design, and lead in executing the monitoring and telemetry services for the vCMTS field trials. You will work closely with the Customer Success and Support teams to ensure that customer complaints related to service performance are resolved through data-driven network optimization.

Duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Design and deploy telemetry systems to monitor broadband access networks for virtualized CMTS solution in real time.
  • Work with customers to integrate monitoring and streaming telemetry into vCMTS solution to ensure continuous and efficient data collection and reporting.
  • Develop and configure the infrastructure for telemetry data collection, ensuring efficient extraction of performance metrics, traffic patterns, error logs, and health indicators.
  • Work with the data analytics team to translate telemetry data into actionable insights for performance monitoring, fault detection, and optimization.
  • Proactively identify potential network issues such as congestion, traffic anomalies, or hardware failures based on real-time telemetry data.
  • Work closely with the Customer Success and Support teams to ensure that customer complaints related to service performance are resolved through data-driven network optimization.
  • Use telemetry data to monitor user experience metrics and provide insights into the QOS for broadband customers.

Position requirements:
  • This position requires you to be located in Atlanta, GA and be on site at the Cox Communication facility on an ongoing basis.
  • 10+ years of experience in broadband access networks, specialized in DOCSIS, DPoE networks, focused on telemetry, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Expertise in modern network monitoring protocols, including but not limited to gNMI, NETCONF, RESTCONF, SNMP, KAFKA, and Model-Driven Telemetry.
  • Experience with network performance monitoring tools and platforms (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and data storage solutions (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript for automation and telemetry data analysis.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG) and data analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing, deploying, and supporting network monitoring and telemetry solutions to broadband service providers.
  • Must have work experience in the capacity of network monitoring and telemetry engineer in Cable/Wireline.
  • Must have prior experience in design, and troubleshooting DOCSIS networks, CMTS focused in monitoring and streaming telemetry.
  • Should have experience in design, configuring and troubleshooting for DOCSIS vCMTS solutions.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or minimum 10 years of experience.
  • Professional level knowledge or certifications in network monitoring and telemetry protocols (SNMP, NETCONF, gNMI etc.)
  • Cloud certifications (CKA, Hashi Corp, AWS, Azure, GCP) are a plus.
  • Design expertise in Broadband Access technologies (DOCSIS and Networking).
  • Design level expertise in network monitoring and telemetry protocols, solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of proactive and reactive network monitoring in broadband access.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization, containers, and Kubernetes is a plus
  • Broadcast and broadband video delivery experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a Support team and meet tight KPIs
  • Engineering background in analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Exceptional ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priority items simultaneously
  • Ability to understand technical documentation including Software/Hardware Configuration Guides, schematics, work instructions, test procedures, etc.
