We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Sustainability Analyst to join our Sustainability CoE. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing comprehensive company-specific and thematic ESG research, managing internal and external partnerships, and facilitating the incorporation of ESG considerations into Mackenzie's investment processes. This role requires exceptional analytical capabilities, strong interpersonal skills, and an innovative mindset dedicated to advancing sustainable investing practices. Candidates also need to demonstrate flexibility and the ability to manage multiple diverse projects concurrently.

- Own and deliver comprehensive ESG research initiatives, ensuring high-quality outputs.
- Provide investment boutiques with insightful, robust research on relevant ESG topics and individual companies.
- Conduct and publish thematic research, highlighting critical ESG trends and issues.
- Efficiently plan, schedule, and manage tasks to ensure timely completion and clarity in progress tracking.
Data analysis and process optimization (20%)
- Perform thorough data analysis and deliver clear, actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in research workflows and processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Actively contribute to developing and refining research methodologies to ensure rigor and relevance.
Stakeholder engagement (10%)
- Foster strong collaboration and partnerships with internal teams such as Stewardship, Data and Oversight, and Mackenzie's investment teams, as well as external industry experts and partners.
- Mentor and support junior staff, providing guidance and knowledge-sharing to enhance team performance.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in asset management or capital markets
- In-depth expertise in sustainable investing and capital markets.
- Strong proficiency in climate and sustainability topics, coupled with the agility to quickly master complex subject areas.
- Exceptional analytical skills, adept in data visualization and enthusiastic about adopting AI-driven tools and processes.
- Proficiency in sustainability-focused platforms (MSCI, Sustainalytics, Bloomberg).
- Strong capabilities with the Microsoft Office Suite and excellent presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability in problem-solving, critical thinking, and independent work.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Professional designations such as CFA or CPA are considered valuable assets.
