Pay: $124,100 to $167,900

What you will do

The NA Tech Ops Packaging Lead is responsible for support of the day-to-day business, CAPA and investigations, troubleshooting, etc. in. This includes collaboration with regional partners to ensure consistent and robust supply of the existing supply chain.

This role partners with internal and external Supply Chain, Quality and R&D representatives in the region to identify, define and execute technical projects including technology transfers, process capability improvements, new products and compliance remediations that impact cost, compliance and customer service.

The role will provide a broad base of knowledge a multi-functional experience and is a catalyst for the business.

The Packaging Leader provides operational management and leadership for a team of scientific and technical support staff to meet the packaging material and component regional supply chain objectives for the US Ft Washington Liquids network.

Lead a team of Tech Ops Packaging Engineers, assuring the development, validation and maintenance of packaging components, labeling and systems to support Base Business activities, Franchise initiatives, technical transfers, Cost Improvements, New Product Development and quality and compliance projects. Accountable for commitments to projects; provide project oversight/planning and is accountable for results (time and budget commitments).

  • Develop and lead strategic packaging initiatives for all brands to deliver short and long-term goals of the franchises including package development, labeling process, component specifications and validation.
  • Lead packaging and life cycle management initiatives, including design requirements, definition of the scope of change, packaging and equipment solution proposals, prior knowledge and knowledge gap assessments, risk assessments, test plans, and test results analysis and conclusions.
  • The position has direct responsibility for support of the day-to-day business, CAPA and investigations, troubleshooting, etc. in. This includes collaboration with regional partners to ensure consistent and robust supply of the existing supply chain.
  • This role partners with internal and external Supply Chain, Quality and R&D representatives in the region to identify, define and execute technical projects including technology transfers, process capability improvements, new products and compliance remediations that impact cost, compliance and customer service.
  • The role will provide a broad base of knowledge a multi-functional experience and is a catalyst for the business.
  • Partner with R&D teams, Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Regulatory with respect to new products, product optimization and tech transfer.
  • Provide support to and influence the packaging equipment selection process for the manufacturing network.
  • Ensure alignment with manufacturing locations to drive standardization, cost saving initiatives, issue resolution, and roll out of new packaging solutions.
  • Manage the performance and development of direct reports per company policies and procedures.


What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a cross functional environment relating to R&D, Marketing, Operations, Sales, etc,.
  • Previous experience focusing on managing technical processes and projects is required. Proficiency in MS Office applications is required, especially with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in customer focus, program/project management, accountability, process orientation, and strategic thinking is required.
  • Experience in process excellence and process thinking and application of tools is required. Excellent negotiation skills, ability to effectively work with peers, strong leadership and analytical skills, and proven business acumen are required.
  • Previous experience with responsibility for delivering on components of the strategic plan as assigned or directed by leadership is required. Previous experience establishing project success criteria and monitor activities required.
  • Experience managing budgets and resources, including skilled professionals or managers, and achieve activity goals required.
  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Packaging Sciences or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of industry experience is required, with at least 2 years of package development and packaging equipment experience required.
  • A minimum of 1 years' experience in people/line management is preferred.
  • Specific experience within the Consumer, OTC, or Pharmaceutical industry is required. GMP experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment is required.
  • Advanced, technical knowledge related to package materials, packaging equipment, testing and package development is required.
  • Previous experience overseeing complex projects in a matrixed environment is required.
  • Physical Demands: Office deskwork, requiring sitting, walking, using phone & computer. May lift up to 30 lbs occasionally. This role may require up to 25% travel based on business needs.


What's in it for you

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $124,100 to $167,900. This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
