MRI Technologies has partnered with NASA since 1988 to deliver software solutions that meet the complex operational environment of space flight. MRI, a woman-owned technologies and engineering services company, has a need for an experienced Full Stack Engineer.
The MRI software team is a group of passionate developers, working closely together to identify problems at NASA. We are passionate about open source software and take a very pragmatic approach when evaluating the tooling, languages, and frameworks used on a given project. This position is 100% remote, working with a fantastic team of developers from across the country and collaborating with multiple NASA centers. Your day as a Full Stack Engineer
As a Full Stack Engineer at MRI Technologies, you'll dive into an engaging and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same! Expect to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain both front-end and back-end solutions, ensuring seamless user experiences. Your day will include coding and debugging applications, performing code reviews, and participating in daily stand-ups to discuss project progress and challenges. You'll utilize agile methodologies to manage your tasks and contribute to brainstorming sessions aimed at solving complex problems. Regularly, you'll engage in discussions about current technology trends, sharing your hunger for knowledge and learning from others.
Additionally, you will be expected to document your work and contribute to internal knowledge bases, fostering a culture of accountability and support. Every day, you'll have the opportunity to learn, innovate, and contribute to exciting projects that impact our customers.
What we're looking for in a Full Stack Engineer

Strong expertise in Angular is essential for crafting responsive front-end applications, while proficiency in Python will empower you to develop robust back-end solutions. Extensive experience in Kubernetes hosting environments is crucial, as you'll be responsible for deploying and managing applications seamlessly in dynamic cloud ecosystems. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS) will allow you to leverage the power of cloud computing for scalable and efficient applications. - Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, plus a minimum of 8 years of professional full-stack development experience.
- In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree in a related field plus a minimum of 10 years of professional full-stack development experience will be considered.
- High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 15 years of directly relevant professional full-stack development experience will also be considered.
- Server-Side Development: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience developing applications and services using C#. (Experience with other similar strongly-typed, object-oriented server-side languages such as Java or Go may be considered if accompanied by a strong willingness to learn C# quickly.)
- Client-Side Development: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience developing user interfaces using Angular (version X or higher). (Experience with other modern component-based JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.js may be considered if accompanied by a strong willingness to learn Angular quickly.)
- Cloud-Native Development: Demonstrated experience (minimum 2 years) architecting, building, and deploying cloud-native applications and services on at least one of the following cloud platforms: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure. Please specify the platform(s) you have experience with in your application.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Proven experience (minimum 2 years) working with Kubernetes for container orchestration and management.
- Scripting and Automation: Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and potentially backend development tasks.
- Technical Documentation: Excellent technical writing skills with proficiency in Markdown for creating clear and concise documentation.
