This position offers an exciting opportunity for the Risk Manager to play a critical role on Sun Life's Corporate Risk Operations (CROps) team. The Risk Manager will work with Risk partners and Risk Product Owners in advancing risk services initiatives aimed at increasing both efficiency and effectiveness.

What will you do?
Enterprise and Operational Risk Reporting Framework
- Manage the development and maintenance of Enterprise and Operational Risk Reporting Framework
- Manage the implementation and maintenance of risk metrics and policy non-compliance reporting in the Governance, Risk and Compliance system (Archer)
Risk Policies Lifecycle Management and Governance
- Work together with the Director, Risk Services in overseeing all stages of risk policies management from policy documentation and approval to adoption, compliance monitoring and periodic review
1st line (1A and 1B) Corporate Risk Management
- Manage and perform 1st line operational risk 1A role for Corporate Risk team and 1B role for Corporate Risk, Audit and Corporate Strategy and Development that includes the preparation and coordination of quarterly key and emerging risk assessment, Risk and Controls Self Assessment (RCSA) and annual Business Environment Questionnaire (BEQ), Policy Non-compliance (PNC) and Operational Risk Events (ORE) reporting, Third Party Risk Management and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) management and monitoring, training and quality control.
- Support Corporate Risk Business Continuity and Crisis Management activities
Risk Controls Management
- Manage the process for risk control documentation, testing and monitoring, including RDARR, Segregated Fund, Operational Risk EaR and shared risks.
What do you need to succeed?
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a risk management or process optimization role
- Experience and proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, V-look ups), Tableau and/or Power BI
- Advanced time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Excellent presentation skills across a variety of audience, including senior leaders
- Results oriented team player
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and embrace change
Preferred Skills:
- University degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial or Computer Science is an asset
- Experience with the Microsoft suite of tools, AI, Data Visualization tools, ServiceNow, SAP Ariba, SAP AP and Archer is an asset
- Experience in process mapping as well as identification and assessment of processes is an asset.
- Experience completing and summarizing market research is an asset
