A well-established construction company is seeking a Senior Accountant on a temp-to-hire basis. This position reports directly to the Controller and plays a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations with costing and inventory. The ideal candidate brings strong full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in construction or a related field, and is looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  Manufacturing or construction industry experience preferred
  
• Strong understanding of job costing and inventory
  
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (experience with Sage 300, Viewpoint, or QuickBooks a plus)
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
  
• Manage general ledger activity, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  
• Maintain job cost tracking and WIP (Work in Progress) reporting
  
• Handle accounts payable and receivable processes
  
• Assist with month-end and year-end closings
  
• Prepare supporting schedules for audits and internal reporting
  
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
  
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
  
• Collaborate with project managers to monitor job costs and billing
